Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), you have the right to dispute inaccurate Experian entries and to sue if they refuse to correct them. Our attorneys handle it all, at no cost to you.

  • We can assist with the dispute process involving inaccurate accounts, late payments, collections, and items that shouldn’t be on your Experian report
  • If Experian fails to properly investigate your dispute, we can file a federal lawsuit on your behalf
  • Our legal fees are paid by Experian and the companies that supplied them with wrong information — not directly by you

    DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

Experian Errors Can Follow You for Years — Holding Back Your Credit, Your Loans, and Your Life

Experian is the world’s largest credit reporting agency. That size means they handle an enormous volume of data — and that volume means mistakes. When Experian reports inaccurate information, the consequences can affect your ability to buy a home, get a job, or qualify for credit. And their own dispute process is set up to favor speed, not accuracy.

    🏠

Denied for a mortgage or rental because of an account on your Experian report you don't recognize or already resolved

    🔁

You disputed an error with Experian — it was removed — and then it showed back up again a few months later

    💼

A collection account or charge-off appearing on your Experian report that you paid — or that was never yours to begin with

    📉

Late payments dragging down your Experian score that you know were made on time

    📆

Negative items on your Experian report — bankruptcies, judgments, or derogatory accounts — that are past their legal removal date

    🆔

Someone else's accounts, addresses, or public records mixed into your Experian file

If Experian is reporting something inaccurate, you don't have to accept it. Federal law gives you the right to demand a proper investigation — and to be compensated if Experian fails to comply.
    The Process

Three Steps to Correcting Your Experian Report

We handle everything. You just answer our call

    1

    We Review Your Experian Report

Share your Experian credit report with us (or we can walk you through getting it at no cost). Our attorneys review every account, payment history, and public record for inaccuracies and potential FCRA violations — including items that have been disputed before and reappeared.

    2

We Can Assist With a Formal Dispute

If your case calls for it, our attorneys can help prepare and submit a formal dispute to Experian on your behalf. Under the FCRA, Experian has 30 days to conduct a genuine investigation. We build a thorough, well-documented case — not a generic form letter — and preserve the complete record in case further legal action becomes necessary.

    3

If the Errors Aren't Fixed, You May Be Owed Compensation

If Experian fails to properly investigate, reinstates a removed error, or continues reporting something you’ve already disputed, you may have grounds for a federal lawsuit. We can pursue actual damages, statutory damages, and attorney’s fees — all paid by Experian and the responsible data furnishers, not by you.

    Know Your Rights

Experian Has Legal Obligations to You — and When They Fail to Meet Them, They Can Be Held Accountable

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires Experian to maintain accurate records and to conduct a proper reinvestigation whenever a consumer disputes an error. When Experian fails to do so — whether by conducting a cursory investigation, failing to remove a verified error, or allowing a deleted item to reappear — they may be in violation of federal law.

That means you may be entitled to:

    • 💵 Actual DamagesMoney lost from denied credit, higher interest rates, or other financial harm
    • 📋 Statutory DamagesUp to $1,000 per violation — even without proving a specific financial loss
    • ⚖️ Punitive DamagesAdditional amounts a court may award if the violation was willful
    • 🏛️ Attorney’s FeesPaid by Experian and the companies that provided inaccurate information — not directly by you

"I went to Mr. Kim for help about two years ago and he immediately agreed to assist me with my credit report and creditors. He went to work and his legal assistant is amazing and very responsive. They showed that they cared, and in the end I was rewarded for all my issues — my credit score is now 741 thanks to Mr. Kim and his paralegal Anna. I will be forever grateful and will 100% recommend them to anyone with any credit or creditor problems."

"I was frustrated by the mistreatment of a creditor that damaged my credit. I filed a dispute with the credit agencies hoping it would resolve my issue — their process is a joke; it's as if they just work for the creditors. That's when I decided to hire The Kim Law Firm. Mr. Kim did an excellent job fighting for my rights, clearing up my credit, and getting compensation for my aggravation. If you need help, this is the firm you want representing you."

He was confident he could help me from the very beginning, and in the end he did just that and more. My experience could not have been better. I sincerely thank you all for advocating on my behalf and seeing me when other entities did not."

    Frequently Asked Questions

You can get a free copy of your Experian credit report at AnnualCreditReport.com — the federally authorized source. You can also request it directly through Experian's website. Once you have your report, contact us for a free attorney review. We'll look for FCRA violations at no out of pocket cost to you.
It may be. Under the FCRA, once Experian removes an item after a dispute, they are prohibited from reinserting it unless the original furnisher certifies that the information is complete and accurate — and Experian must notify you within 5 business days of the reinsertion. If Experian reinserted a deleted item without following these procedures, that may be a separate FCRA violation on top of the original error. These cases are exactly what we handle.
Nothing out of pocket. The FCRA requires Experian to pay your attorney's fees when they are found to have violated the law. Our legal fees are paid by Experian and the companies that furnished them with inaccurate data — not by you. You will never receive a bill from us.
Under the FCRA, Experian generally has 30 days to complete a reinvestigation after receiving your dispute. In some circumstances — such as when you submit additional supporting information — they have up to 45 days. If Experian fails to investigate within the required timeframe, or if their reinvestigation is not genuine, they may be violating federal law.
A "verified" response from Experian does not necessarily mean the reinvestigation was legally adequate. Under the FCRA, Experian cannot simply take the lender's or collector's word for it — they must conduct an independent review of all relevant information you provide. If Experian's investigation amounted to nothing more than forwarding your dispute to the creditor and accepting their answer, that may not satisfy the legal standard.
FCRA violations often appear across multiple bureaus when the same lender or debt collector is reporting inaccurate data to all three. If the same error appears on your Equifax or TransUnion report, we can pursue disputes against those bureaus at the same time — each at no out of pocket cost to you. Multiple violations across multiple bureaus can significantly strengthen your legal position.
