Global Lending Services Credit Report Errors

The Kim Law Firm represents consumers whose auto loans are being reported inaccurately by Global Lending Services. If Global Lending Services is reporting a balance you already paid, a repossession that did not happen the way it claims, an account that was discharged in bankruptcy, or a loan that is not even yours, the Fair Credit Reporting Act gives you the right to force a correction and to recover money for the harm a false auto-loan tradeline causes. This page explains who Global Lending Services is, how to reach it, and what to do if the account on your credit report is wrong.

Who is Global Lending Services?

Global Lending Services, LLC (GLS) is a subprime auto lender based in Atlanta, Georgia, with operations in Greenville, South Carolina. It finances used and new vehicles through franchised dealers for near-prime and subprime borrowers, and it both services and reports those accounts to the credit bureaus.

Is Global Lending Services reporting your auto loan incorrectly?

Because Global Lending Services reports your account to the credit bureaus every month, an error on its tradeline can drag your score down for years. The most common inaccuracies we see on auto-loan accounts include:

  • A balance you already paid. The loan was paid off, settled, or covered by a total-loss insurance payoff, but Global Lending Services still reports a balance or past-due amount.
  • A wrong or duplicated repossession. A repossession reported incorrectly, an overstated deficiency balance, or the same repossession reported more than once.
  • A debt discharged in bankruptcy. The account was discharged, yet it still reports a balance or keeps showing as past due.
  • Re-aging. The date of first delinquency is moved forward so a negative account stays on your report longer than the seven years the law allows.
  • It is not your account. Identity theft or a mixed credit file can put a Global Lending Services auto loan you never opened on your report.

Each of these is a potential violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), which can entitle you to have the item corrected or deleted and to recover damages, often at no cost to you.

How to contact Global Lending Services

Global Lending Services (GLS) is based in Atlanta, Georgia (website: glsauto.com). Because servicing phone numbers and mailing addresses change periodically, confirm the current customer-service number and the exact dispute or payoff address on your most recent statement before mailing, and keep proof of anything you send.

Global Lending Services and consumer-protection law

GLS is among the more heavily complained-about auto lenders in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's public Consumer Complaint Database, where borrowers repeatedly report servicing and credit-reporting problems, and it has been named in Fair Debt Collection Practices Act lawsuits over its call practices. Source: CFPB Consumer Complaint Database. A high complaint volume does not prove your account is wrong, but it is a good reason to demand that GLS document the tradeline it is reporting.

Who we can help and who we can not

We represent consumers whose Global Lending Services auto loan is being reported incorrectly โ€” a balance that was already paid, a repossession or bankruptcy reported wrong, or an account that is not yours because of identity theft or a mixed file. That is the kind of Fair Credit Reporting Act problem we handle. We are not the right firm if you simply want out of a car loan you genuinely owe, want to lower a legitimate payment, or want to stop a lawful repossession of a vehicle you financed and stopped paying for. Our focus is fixing inaccurate reporting and recovering damages for the harm it causes.

How The Kim Law Firm helps

If you disputed a Global Lending Services account and it was not fixed, or the damage is already done, we can help. Under the FCRA, Global Lending Services and the credit bureaus must conduct a genuine investigation of your dispute; when they rubber-stamp an error instead, they can be held accountable for actual damages, statutory damages, and your attorney's fees. The FCRA lets us recover our fees from the company that broke the law, so your case review is free and we work on a no-fee-unless-we-win basis. Frequently asked questions about Global Lending Services

Can I get Global Lending Services removed from my credit report? If the tradeline is inaccurate โ€” wrong balance, a repossession or bankruptcy reported incorrectly, re-aged dates, or not your account โ€” you can dispute it with all three credit bureaus and directly with Global Lending Services under the FCRA. Anything that cannot be verified must be corrected or deleted.

Global Lending Services is reporting a balance after my car was repossessed or totaled. Is that allowed? Only if the amount is accurate. Overstated deficiency balances, amounts already paid by insurance, and balances discharged in bankruptcy are common errors you can challenge.

The account is not mine. If a Global Lending Services loan appears on your report because of identity theft or a mixed file, do not pay it โ€” dispute it, and if it is not corrected our attorneys can pursue the bureaus and Global Lending Services under the FCRA.

What does it cost to have my case reviewed? Nothing. The FCRA shifts attorney's fees to the company that broke the law, so we offer a free case review and work on a no-fee-unless-we-win basis.
