Milestone Card Credit Report Errors

The Kim Law Firm represents consumers whose Milestone credit-card account is being reported inaccurately to the credit bureaus. If Milestone is reporting a balance you already paid, a charge-off with the wrong dates, late payments that were not late, or an account that is not even yours, the Fair Credit Reporting Act gives you the right to force a correction and to recover money for the harm a false tradeline causes. This page explains who Milestone is, how to reach it, and what to do if the account on your credit report is wrong.

Who is Milestone?

The Milestone Mastercard is a subprime, unsecured credit card for consumers with poor credit. It is serviced by Concora Credit (formerly Genesis FS Card Services) of Beaverton, Oregon, and issued through partner banks. Like other subprime cards, the issuer reports the account, including balances, payments, and any charge-off, to the credit bureaus.

Is Milestone reporting your credit card incorrectly?

Because Milestone reports your account to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion every month, an error on its tradeline can drag your score down for years. The most common inaccuracies we see on credit-card accounts include:

  • A balance you already paid or settled. The account was paid, settled, or discharged in bankruptcy, but Milestone still reports a balance or past-due amount.
  • A charge-off with the wrong dates. An incorrect date of first delinquency, or an account re-aged so it stays on your report longer than the seven years the law allows.
  • It is not your account (identity theft). Subprime and store cards are common identity-theft targets; a Milestone account you never opened can be a sign of fraud, and you should not have to pay it.
  • Late payments that were not late. Payments reported 30, 60, or 90 days late when they were actually made on time.
  • Duplicate reporting. The same account reported twice, or reported by both Milestone and a debt collector at the same time.

Each of these is a potential violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), which can entitle you to have the item corrected or deleted and to recover damages, often at no cost to you.

How to contact Milestone

Milestone is serviced by Concora Credit, based in Beaverton, Oregon (website: milestonecard.com). Confirm the exact dispute or payment address and the phone number on your most recent statement before mailing, and send any written dispute by mail so you keep proof.

Milestone and consumer-protection law

Milestone draws heavy volume in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's public Consumer Complaint Database and at the Better Business Bureau over its fee structure and reporting practices. Source: CFPB Consumer Complaint Database. A charge-off, a balance you already paid, or an account you never opened can all be disputed and corrected under the FCRA.

How to dispute and remove an inaccurate Milestone account

  • Dispute the tradeline in writing with each credit bureau (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion) and directly with Milestone under the FCRA, identifying every inaccuracy such as a wrong balance, wrong dates, late marks, or not your account.
  • Check the date of first delinquency. If the account was re-aged or is being reported past the seven-year limit, say so specifically.
  • If the account resulted from identity theft, create a report at IdentityTheft.gov and submit it with your dispute so the account can be blocked.
  • Keep copies of everything. If Milestone or the bureau verifies an item you have shown to be false, that failure to investigate is itself an FCRA claim.

Who we can help and who we can not

We represent consumers whose Milestone account is being reported incorrectly — a balance you already paid, a charge-off reported wrong, late marks that are not accurate, or an account that is not yours because of identity theft or a mixed file. That is the kind of Fair Credit Reporting Act problem we handle. We are not the right firm if you simply want out of a credit-card balance you genuinely owe, or want help negotiating a legitimate debt. Our focus is fixing inaccurate reporting and recovering damages for the harm it causes.

How The Kim Law Firm helps

If you disputed a Milestone account and it was not fixed, or the damage is already done, we can help. Under the FCRA, Milestone and the credit bureaus must genuinely investigate your dispute; when they rubber-stamp an error instead, they can be held accountable for actual damages, statutory damages, and your attorney's fees. The FCRA lets us recover our fees from the company that broke the law, so your case review is free and we work on a no-fee-unless-we-win basis. Two cards, one servicer, two tradelines

Milestone is an unsecured card marketed to consumers with damaged credit, and it is serviced by Concora Credit of Beaverton, Oregon, the same company behind several other subprime brands. People who were approved for one of these cards are frequently approved for another, and the result is two separate accounts, two separate credit limits and two separate tradelines that arrive on the report under bank names rather than the brand printed on the plastic. Two small limits from the same program can look like two unrecognized accounts from two unfamiliar banks.

  • Indigo — the sister brand run through the same servicer and partner banks.
  • Concora Credit — the Oregon servicer whose name is on the letters, not always the report.
  • Continental Finance — another program issuing multiple card brands through banks.
  • Mission Lane — a card that arrives by pre-approval and reports under an unfamiliar name.
  • Credit One Bank — a Las Vegas issuer serving a similar market under its own charter.

Match each tradeline to a specific card by open date, credit limit and last four digits before deciding anything is fraudulent. If both cards are yours, the accounts are legitimately separate and both must be accurate on their own terms. If one tradeline reports a balance or a delinquency that belongs to the other card, that is a furnisher error and disputing it by account number rather than by company name is what forces a real investigation.

Frequently asked questions about Milestone

Can I get Milestone removed from my credit report? If the tradeline is inaccurate, such as a wrong balance, wrong dates, late marks that are not accurate, or not your account, you can dispute it with all three bureaus and directly with Milestone under the FCRA. Anything that cannot be verified must be corrected or deleted.

Milestone is reporting a charge-off. Can that be fixed? If the charge-off is inaccurate, such as a wrong amount, wrong dates, already paid or settled, or not your account, yes. Even an accurate charge-off must be reported correctly and must fall off after seven years from the original delinquency.

The account is not mine. If a Milestone account appears because of identity theft or a mixed file, do not pay it; dispute it, and if it is not corrected our attorneys can pursue the bureaus and Milestone under the FCRA.

What does it cost to have my case reviewed? Nothing. The FCRA shifts attorney's fees to the company that broke the law, so we offer a free case review and work on a no-fee-unless-we-win basis.

Milestone Mastercard phone numbers and mailing addresses

Milestone is a card brand, not a bank. The card is issued by The Bank of Missouri and serviced by Concora Credit Inc., which is why mail about a Milestone account carries a Concora return address, and why the account can appear on a credit report under a name you do not recognize. Everything below is published by Milestone on its own site.

Phone numbers Milestone publishes

  • Customer service: 800-305-0330, also written 1-800-305-0330, (800) 305-0330 or 8003050330. Milestone lists the hours as 6:00am to 6:00pm Pacific, Monday through Friday.
  • Lost or stolen card: 800-314-6340, also written (800) 314-6340 or 8003146340.
  • Fraud protection: 800-304-3096, also written (800) 304-3096 or 8003043096.
  • Fax: 503-268-4711. The 503 area code is Oregon, which matches the Beaverton correspondence address below.

Where Milestone mails from, and where to write

  • Correspondence: Concora Credit, PO Box 4477, Beaverton, OR 97076-4477. This is the box Milestone publishes for written correspondence about an account.
  • Payments: Concora Credit, PO Box 96541, Charlotte, NC 28296-0541. Payments and correspondence go to different states, so an envelope addressed to Charlotte will not reach anyone who can act on a dispute letter.

Where a Milestone credit report dispute actually goes

Milestone does not publish a separate credit bureau dispute address. That absence matters more than it looks, because it makes the routing question decisive. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a furnisher's obligation to investigate is triggered when the dispute reaches it from a credit bureau, not when it arrives in the mail from you directly. Writing to the Beaverton box is worth doing — it creates a dated record that the servicer was told the information was wrong — but with no dedicated dispute box published, the credit bureau route is the one that carries the statutory obligation.

Dispute in writing with Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, send a copy to PO Box 4477 in Beaverton so Concora has its own dated record, and keep proof of both mailings.

Why the account may not say Milestone on your credit report

Three separate company names attach to a single Milestone card. The Bank of Missouri, an FDIC-insured bank headquartered in St. Robert, Missouri, is the issuing bank. Concora Credit Inc., NMLS #1549514, is the servicer, and its name appears on the correspondence and payment addresses. Milestone is the brand printed on the card. A tradeline, a collection notice or a bureau entry may use any of the three, and a consumer looking for "Milestone" on a report frequently cannot find it because the report says something else.

Milestone and Indigo share nearly every identifier

Concora Credit also services the Indigo Mastercard, which is issued by a different bank. Milestone and Indigo share the Beaverton correspondence box, the Charlotte payment box, the fax number, the lost or stolen line and the fraud line. Only two things differ: the main customer service number, and the issuing bank. Milestone is issued by The Bank of Missouri; Indigo is issued by Celtic Bank.

That overlap is worth knowing for two reasons. If you hold both cards, the addresses on the two envelopes will look identical, and matching a letter to the right account means reading the account number rather than the return address. And if you are looking at an unfamiliar Concora Credit entry on a credit report, the entry could belong to either brand — the servicer name alone does not tell you which card it is.

Numbers and addresses that are not on this list

Card issuers and their servicers use outbound calling vendors and short-code messaging services, so a legitimate call or text about a Milestone account can come from a number that appears nowhere on Milestone's own site. An unlisted number is not proof of a scam, and a number that matches this list is not proof the caller is genuine — caller ID is trivially spoofed. If you want to be certain, hang up and call the number printed on your statement or listed above.

There is a different problem worth separating out. If a Milestone, Bank of Missouri or Concora Credit entry appears on a report when you never applied for the card, the question is not whether a caller is real — it is that an application may have been submitted in your name. A hard inquiry generally stays on a credit report for two years, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act permits a consumer report to be obtained only for a permissible purpose.

To check what you are actually looking at:

  • Pull all three reports at AnnualCreditReport.com and search for The Bank of Missouri and Concora Credit as well as Milestone — the entry often appears under a name other than the one on the card.
  • If you find a Concora Credit entry, check the account number and opening date against both cards before assuming which one it is.
  • Compare the three reports against each other. An account opened without your authorization frequently appears on one bureau before the others, and that difference is often the whole story.
  • Dispute with the credit bureaus in writing, and send a copy to PO Box 4477, Beaverton, OR 97076-4477.
  • Keep the dispute letters, the bureau responses and the envelopes. The paper trail is what establishes what the furnisher knew and when.

An account opened in your name without your authorization is an identity theft problem on your credit report, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act provides rights against both the furnisher and the bureaus that continue reporting it after a dispute.

Milestone Mastercard contact questions people ask

What phone number does Milestone Mastercard use?

Milestone publishes 800-305-0330, also written 1-800-305-0330, (800) 305-0330 or 8003050330, for customer service, with hours of 6:00am to 6:00pm Pacific, Monday through Friday. It also publishes 800-314-6340 for a lost or stolen card, 800-304-3096 for fraud protection, and a fax line at 503-268-4711. Because card issuers use outbound calling vendors, a legitimate call about a Milestone account can still come from a number that appears nowhere on this list.

Where do I send a Milestone credit report dispute?

Milestone does not publish a separate credit bureau dispute address. Written correspondence goes to Concora Credit, PO Box 4477, Beaverton, OR 97076-4477, and payments go to a different box at PO Box 96541, Charlotte, NC 28296-0541. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act a furnisher's duty to investigate is triggered when the dispute reaches it from a credit bureau rather than from you directly, so dispute with Equifax, Experian and TransUnion and send a copy to the Beaverton box as a dated record.

Who issues the Milestone Mastercard?

The Milestone Mastercard is issued by The Bank of Missouri, an FDIC-insured bank headquartered in St. Robert, Missouri, and serviced by Concora Credit Inc., NMLS #1549514. Milestone is the brand printed on the card. A credit report entry, a statement or a collection notice may use any of the three names.

Why do Milestone and Indigo have the same address?

Both cards are serviced by Concora Credit Inc., so they share the Beaverton correspondence box, the Charlotte payment box, the fax number, the lost or stolen line and the fraud line. The issuing banks are different, though: The Bank of Missouri issues Milestone and Celtic Bank issues Indigo. If you hold both cards, matching a letter to the right account means reading the account number rather than the return address.

What should I do if a Milestone account is on my credit report and I never applied?

Pull all three reports at AnnualCreditReport.com and search for The Bank of Missouri and Concora Credit as well as Milestone, since the entry often appears under a name other than the one on the card. Check the account number and opening date before assuming which Concora-serviced card it is. Dispute in writing with the bureaus, send a copy to PO Box 4477 in Beaverton, and keep the letters and envelopes. An account opened in your name without your authorization is an identity theft problem on your credit report, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act provides rights against both the furnisher and the bureaus that keep reporting it after a dispute.
